DTEGPS’s broad range of GPS reporting solutions begins with the OBC 5100.  The OBC 5100 contains a specialized software program that enables On-Board to remotely activate various reporting options for our wide variety of GPS tracking solutions.

 

Unlike a GPS enabled cell phone designed for tracking people, the OBC 5100 is installed inside the vehicle and cannot be turned off.  By attaching it to the vehicle, you can rest assured that the vehicle can be located when necessary and the reports are accurate. Should the OBC 5100 be out of cellular coverage for a period of time, the unit will store the data and transmit it when it returns to coverage.   Also, the OBC5100 has almost four times the transmit power of a traditional handheld GPS enabled phone thus extending real-time tracking capabilities.

 

Finally, the OBC5100 supports SafetyTraks™, a true end to end solution that was developed by On-Board engineers. Although this is very rare in the GPS tracking industry, it optimizes the interface between the OBC5100 and the On-Board SafetyTraks™ server.  This end to end solution provides a competitive advantage by allowing us to ensure reliability and quality and continuously enhance the capabilities of the SafetyTraks™ application.
